Rocky Mountain Railroad Club Pictures Page

We often receive pictures which are really very interesting but just don't fit the criteria for our News Page. In answer to those who have sent these pictures, we are creating a "Trains" page. The only criteria for this page is that the subject be a Train. The picture can be taken in the U.S. or overseas, new or historic, it just has to show trains.

Photo specs: 640 X 480, max of 800 X 600 72 dpi or ppi which is the standard for the web. GIF or TIF is preferred as these are considered lossless versus lossy  (A lossy compression (JPG) method is one where compressing data and then decompressing it retrieves data that may well be different from the original). I reduce some pictures to 550 x 350 if I put them side by side. Please contact Train Page Webmaster Wally Weart to submit pictures or with questions.

A Tramway trolley

Looking much the worse for wear, Dave Schaaf photographed Tramway 117 as awaits its fate along with other transit vehicles including a Denver trolley bus just the left. The car was last used as a waiting shelter at the Broadway Light Rail station where it even had a fake trolley pole. There are at least three Tramway car bodies in the Denver area that are stored awaiting restoration.

A friend from when I lived in Virginia is and excellent photographer and he was kind enough to allow me to post this picture. Night photography at its best!

Rocky Club member Dave Gross was in Shroda, Poland last October and took this picture. Wow!!

A Cardinal ALCO

Just to get the page started, I've added a picture taken while I was living in Canada. CASCO has a glucose and starch plant in Cardinal, Ontario which is connected to the CN's Montreal - Toronto main line by a two mile long private railroad. They run almost every day using this vintage ALCO. The crew was great, posing the  engine for me and otherwise making my railfanning day.
